Landscape Waste Update
Posted: 07/22/2010
Beginning immediately, the City of Kewanee and Rare Earth Diversified Services, Inc are asking residents who use the landscape waste bags for sticks and small limbs to please break these items into pieces no longer than one and one-half foot (l 1/2’) long as anything over that length jams up the composting equipment at the Rare Earth Facility, where the city takes its landscape waste.
If you have any questions regarding this policy, please call City Halla t 852-2611.
Illinois Youth Center to Perform Hydrant Flow Testing
Posted: 07/22/2010
Beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2010, the Illinois Youth Center will begin hydrant flow testing at their facility.
This will again cause a rusty water condition in Kewanee. Please plan accordingly and do not plan on doing laundry that day as this rusty condition may last most of the day.
When flushing your water system at home, run only the COLD water as running the hot water will only draw the rust & other sediment into your water heater.
If you have any questions, please call City Hall at 852-2611.
